I never understood why my mentor would repeatedly tell me to listen to the same thing. For example, when I was learning about decision-making, he asked me to read an article daily for 90 days.
Why would I have to read it for 90 days? I never had to do that in school. I never did that with anything.
He told me that when we read or listen to something, our mind goes on THOUGHT TRIPS. A thought trip is when I am reading or watching something, but thinking about something else.
The chart above shows this. The red line represents me listening or watching something. The yellow line represents my thought trips. I miss key points along the way and only through repetition to I actually over time, hear everything that is being said.
